WORKERS STRIKE OVER PAY IN PNG'S LAE
Workers from two different Lae based companies went on separate strikes on Friday over pay conditions.
At the Lae Port Expansion project, workers from China Harbour Engineering Company stopped work and demanded a pay increase.
Workers said they were being paid no higher than the minimum wage.
At Eriku, police were called in to disperse a curious crowd that had gathered along with striking workers from Anderson’s Foodland.
The workers later met with Management to discuss pay conditions.
